1. Respawn times are now 75% of their original duration.
2. Payloads in Escort and Hybrid maps move 60% faster.
3. Taking control of the Objective Point in Hybrid is 40% faster than usual.
4. Taking control of the objective point in Control is 40% faster than normal, and the capture progress percentage increases by 80%.
5. In Flashpoint, taking control of the objective point is 20% faster than normal, and the capture progress percentage is 40% faster.
6. For Escort, Hybrid, or Push maps, the initial match time is reduced to 70% of the original time, and any time extensions are also cut to 70% of the total added time.
These changes apply exclusively to Role Queue and Open Queue Quick Play modes during the event and will revert to normal after January 14. Competitive Play and Arcade modes remain unaffected.
Quicker Play marks the first installment of Quick Play: Hacked, an initiative to explore exciting variations in core Quick Play gameplay. Expect periodic changes for a limited time.
FAQ:
Q. Why alter Quick Play rules for a weekend?
A. We aim to understand your preferences for changes coming to Overwatch 2. By testing new concepts temporarily, we can quickly gauge your preferences and potentially implement improvements to the gameplay. It also provides players of all skill levels a chance to experiment with playstyles and strategies that may not work as effectively in traditional Overwatch games.
Q. Why not introduce a separate play card in the Arcade?
A. The Arcade primarily hosts modes designed for specific map types or entirely different ways to play Overwatch. Quick Play: Hacked changes influence the core gameplay of the main mode while seeking a more balanced and unique play experience compared to the standard rules.
Q. Why not revive the Experimental Play card?
A. We want more players to join the fun, and most experimental cards focused on testing hero balance changes, while Quick Play: Hacked aims to alter core gameplay rules.
Q. How can I play the regular Quick Play ruleset?
A. Create a custom game with the traditional Quick Play rules and invite others. Quick Play matchmaking will return to normal after January 14.
Log in from January 12 to January 14, experience the speed of Quicker Play, and share your thoughts on future Quick Play hacks.
